Thesis: In the book The Outsiders, Ponyboy Curtis tells the whole story, however, if the novel was told by several characters such as, Soda, Dally, or Johnny, the book would have been told in a much more desirable manner. Lastly, Johnny was with Ponyboy throughout various parts of the book, which would allow us to hear the complete adventure from a whole nother standpoint. The first example of this was seen when Pony and Johnny had just ran away to the local park.
Many think Pony boy has a rough life. He even has his brothers with him at tough times. Just like the rumble how two bit 's, Darry and Pony boy fought the Socs. Then, the greasers win the rumble against the Socs. Therefore, Pony boy will be better with his brothers than foster care.
Darry, Soda, and Pony are all waiting in the hospital to hear news of Dally and Johnny. They are bombarded with reporters, and Darry finally gets them to be left alone because Pony wasn 't’ feeling well. Pony takes a nap on Darry’s lap, and then the doctor finally came with news of Johnny and Dally. Dally would be good to go in a few days after his burns are taken care of, meanwhile Johnny is in critical condition, with not a great chance of making it out of there. On the way home, Pony falls asleep in the car and end up sleeping until the morning when Two-bit and Steve came over.
Ponyboy Curtis is a teenage boy who learns valuable lessons about life. Although, he is the one who stood out the most to me in the book, “The Outsiders.” He is the youngest brother out of the little family they have. He has the most dramatic changes, in his feelings and attitude. Ponyboy’s reasoning for his changes are by the forces of the Socs.
Ponyboy has been gone from Darry, his older brother for about 6 days because they were hiding from the police after Johnny murdered a Soc. They ended up running into a burning church to save children from burning to death and after that they ended up in the hospital from their injuries. Ponyboy thinks that Darry doesn't like him and just wants him to be gone. When Darry sees ponyboy in the hospital, he starts to cry. Ponyboy has never seen Darry cry, not even at his parent’s funeral.
A central conflict for Ponyboy in The Outsiders is his worry for his family and friends. For instance, Ponyboy really worries about Johnny and Dally when they are in the hospital. This interprets that Ponyboy can’t stand to live without them or see them badly hurt. In other words, Pony loves his family and friends and if one dies everyone will be depressed and uncomfortable. Another example is that Ponyboy also gets to know Bob and Randy, and how they were good guys to hang around with.
The year is 1960. Heroic Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade rescued five school children from a burning building. Many were interested in their story, but none got a chance to talk to them personally. In Ponyboy’s opinion, “They asked too many questions too fast, and got me mixed up. If you want to know the truth, I wasn’t really feeling real good in the first place.
Ponyboy and Johnny used to be not as close as now. Therefore, now, they become the closest friend. They become closer and share the same unforgettable experience, they have same situation and same social class. They also rely each other, console each other. Finally they became best friend.
In the novel “The Outsiders” , by S.E Hinton, Darry made a choice that ultimately drove the plot. Ponyboy comes home late at night , and Darry caught and yelled furiously at him for being out late and as Soda tries to defend him he became angry and slapped Ponyboy. The moment when Ponyboy came home, Darry acts furious as the text states, “Where have you been? Do you know what time it is.’ He was madder than I’d seen him in a long time.
Good person but mysterious??? Love:an intense feeling of deep affection. Dally loves Johnny and im proving why he loves Johnny. The book outsiders is a book by S.E Hinton, she wrote it when she was 16.
Ponyboy becomes less afraid of Darry when he realizes that Darry actually does love him. After Ponyboy gets to see Darry when he is taken to the hospital because of the church fire, Darry is standing outside waiting for him. On page 96 Ponyboy writes, Suddenly I realized, horrified, that Darry was crying... Darry did care about me, maybe as much as he cared about Soda. Ponyboy also becomes less afraid of Darry when he starts fighting back when Darry yells at him.
Everybody has opinions, people just don’t have just an opinion, people just want to tell the world about our opinion, but everyone’s opinion is different and can change throughout the years, months but not even days. For example, In The Outsiders, ponyboy, a character from the Outsiders who is also a gang member and is the youngest brother of the family. , had a lot of gut wrenching events because of the Soc’s, the Soc’s are another group "the jet set, the West-side rich kids” (chapter 1), are selfish middle class people who in other cases cause a lot of trouble throughout the novel, and there are multiple people that influence the way ponyboy thinks about the Soc’s throughout the novel.
In the book, Outsiders, I noticed the most character development in Ponyboy Curtis. Although he didn’t realize many things until the end of the book, I think once everything registered within himself, he took everything that had happened to him in the past couple weeks as a lesson. One thing that Ponyboy finally grasped was that his oldest brother Darry actually cared for him. At first Ponyboy had always thought that Darry didn’t like him and that Darry would rather him be gone. However, after his friends repeatedly reassured Ponyboy that his older brother had been hard on him because he really loved and cared about him, Ponyboy slowly started to realize that, even though the two still fought a bit.
Today, abortion still one of the most controversial topics in our communities, some with the Idea that it's wrong (pro-life) and others that is totally okay that women should have control over their body (pro-choice). Even though, it became legal in 1973, there are a big amount of people opposing abortion as a moral wrong. In this paper I would like to talk about three different theories on abortion. First, the structural functionalist, second the conflict perspective theory and third the symbolic Interaction theory.
“Family doesn 't necessarily mean that you have to have a mother, a father, a little brother, and an older sister. ” (Bindi Irwin) This is mostly true, a lot of people do not have a family due to a complicated relationship, or any other of possible issues that can occur, like even sheltering in our friends “There are just small groups of friends who stick together, and the warfare is between the social classes. (P.47) Ponyboy, the main character in the novel referring to friendship and loyalty, which is important in “The Outsiders”, including Ponyboy’s relationship with his two brothers. “The Outsiders” was written by S. E Hilton, first published in 1967 by the Viking Press, Hinton was only fifteen years old when she started writing the novel,
