Portrayal Of African-American Women In Disney Movies

As a little child I have watched Disney movies for a long time even now, but what I did not notice until I had to watch Miss Representation was that some of the princesses were wearing revealing clothes, like Jasmine, Ariel, and Tinkerbell. This made me think if females are shown as objects to others or are the just for entertainment. In movies where the woman is portrayed as a lead role are seen as “sex toys” to other people because of how they are dress, in Catwoman (2004) and Suicide Squad (2016), Catwoman is the main hero who helps people is wearing revealing clothes and in Suicide Squad there was a scene where Harley Quinn was putting a shirt on and when she looked up everyone around her had stop what she was doing and stare at Heley until she said “What?” This has shown no matter if the female role is a hero or a villain they wear revealing clothes.
