Law Enforcement and the Negativity That Follows

Throughout time there always seemed to be negative perceptions or views towards law enforcement. Today you may notice that law enforcement and peace officers have been placed on display. Law enforcement and peace officers seem to be the most hated group of individuals today. This issue captures my attention and weighs heavy on my heart because I am a law enforcement officer. This is an issue that I live with. It is an issue that stares me in the face each day as I rise. This has been an issue we as law enforcement officers has faced dating back for decades. So, how did we get here? How did this problem begin? Is there an isolated incident that caused this downward spiral? Maintaining the positive image of the police has always been a challenge since the days of the first known police force dating back to the 1800’s.
