I read The Yellow Wall Paper. This story is heart breaking because people used to think that everything wrong with a woman would pass. Hysteria they called it. They thought some time alone helped these women recuperate, but ti didn’t. This story is the perfect example because that woman was taken far away and was put in a room alone. As time progressed she became more and more mentally ill but learned how to hide to make sure that her husband wouldn’t worry or send her away.
