Posters have been around as long as we can remember. The popularity of posters increased in the late 1920s and even into the late 1930s. Their distinct look helps them stand out from the rest as they were usually colorful and vivid. A small group of people aided their increasing popularity.

As the years went on, poster design changed with the changing times. Movie posters in the 1920s usually depicted scenes from the movie they were advertising, mainly the memorable scenes from the movie. In the 1930s, however, the movie posters had an increased emphasis on the characters, having the main protagonist or antagonist enlarged on the posters.
