The city of Chelsea in Shelby County, is one of the fastest growing cities in the entire state of Alabama. Chelsea is an attractive area due to its small town feel and family friendly population. The city has a great deal to offer as a home however has one problem that has gotten little attention by local representatives. As the new city mayor one would hope to address numerous areas of roadways that have gotten little to no maintenance over the years. Potholes in the city have been neglected and as a result have become a problem for local residents. A major pitfall of potholes is the possible damage done to cars passing over these areas. Potholes are a problem that can easily be fixed with funding the cost of repair. The many pitfalls of potholes has left a burden on traffic and on the body of many cars in Chelsea. Fortunately the solution is simply to hire a contractor or state road workers to repair the potholes. The hurdle in this situation is how to get the money to pay for the repairs. This is where the city comes together and gets involved in raising the standards of Chelsea roads. Getting local residents and local businesses to pull together and plan a family night out dinner where food, supplies, and time are donated and dinner is served to all attendants in exchange for a small charge. All money collected would be used to assist in repairing the potholes around town. Other fund raisers may need to be used to reach the goal of repairing all potholes or more dinner nights can follow. After Chelsea has 100% fixed the problem, the city can drive around not being worried about getting into wrecks. The city of Chelsea will be able to take these specific pitfalls off the their plates and replace them with a little
