Power In A Midsummer Night's Dream

In today's world, many people have other do not. At the same time, some people also desire power over others. In Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night´s Dream, there are many characters who have power and others who do not. They tend to ruin their relationships with other characters. For example, Oberon, Theseus, and Egeus. They all had a strong will for power and control over others. In the process of getting that power, each of them ruined a relationship whether it was with their daughter, wife or someone they just wanted to hurt but, without intending to.

Oberon played a major role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Oberon is the king of the fairies, while his wife is the queen of the fairies (Titania). Oberon and Titania had a disagreement about

It also seems as if egeus is referring to Hermia as an object rather than a person who has their own mid and feelings. ¨ Scornful Lysander! True he hath my love,/ and what is mine my love shall render him,/ and she is mine and all my right of her/ I do estate unto demetrius¨ (I.I.lines-95-98). Egeus is referring that hermia is his blood and he gets to have full control of what she gets and what she needs and does not care about how lystander was put in between his daughter and him. Throughout the play, Egeus always stresses about the facts that he has (or should have) full power and control over hermia's choices.
