I can envision myself successful in either one of these settings for different reasons. For elementary school, the goal is to be establishing the child’s foundation of language and academics. There will be basic concepts of science, reading/writing, and math taught, as well as time for storytelling. I am skilled in being emotionally expressive in my signing, especially in storytelling. I am also capable at using classifiers effectively to portray concepts.
My goal is to obtain a career that will allow me to help people. I 've always taken joy in the nurturing and care of others, therefore I will pursing a career that aligns well with those qualities. Careers such as a registered nurse, or a psychologist of some sort definitely intrigue me, specifically the aspect of these fields that deals with children. Working as a child psychologist, a NI CU nurse, or a pediatric nurse would be a dream come true. Helping to nurture and take care of children is very rewarding in and of itself, although it would be amazing if I could make a career out of it.

I feel that children are always misunderstood and that all they need is a little bit of guidance to be able help them. Granting babies of illegal immigrants’ citizenship when born in the United States is hurting or economy as well as causing further immigration problems The 14th amendment stated “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”
During my time at placement I was given the role of a Nursery Assistant; My duties were to plan and prepare activities for children, read stories, nappy change them, observe and make notes for use in their reports. I was also a key worker for one child, I had to monitor their progress and share information about their development with their parents and carers. The setting was a warm and welcoming environment, I found that all of the staff were very friendly and reassuring. The placement lasted for four weeks and I worked from Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. On my first day I arrived at 10AM for my induction and was introduced by the manager of the setting to the other members of staff.
Working with children is a great passion of mine. Supporting children and watching them develop is my main aim as I think being responsible for the healthy development of small children is both rewarding and a personal achievement. My passion to work with children came from my only nephew a few years ago when he was born. Helping him walk and teaching him to speak was a huge accomplishment for me knowing I am helping him through his early years in preparation for nursery.
The motivation, passion, and the internal will to want to succeed in life has always dwelled within me, so ultimately, all I needed was to find what interest me in life. In the beginning, I found myself staring down the road of becoming a teacher or dental hygienist. At first the idea of becoming a teacher seemed like a prominent, and fulfilling job. I get to convey knowledge to groups of young individuals, I also get to work in a setting with other mature adults who share my passion, and I have the opportunity to work with children; but, ultimately, there was just one main component missing for me, and that was the hands-on aspect. I told myself that I wanted to be involved in a career that is very hands-on.

It should have been an easy and quick drive to my school for my kindergarten parent teacher interview, but everything went wrong. I can’t quite remember everything and some of the details are fuzzy, like an old dream. I do know it was in September 2006 and I was 5 years old. My dad, my mom and I were in my dad’s truck on our way to my kindergarten parent teacher interview. I remember feeling excited to show my parents my classroom and to see my teacher Madam Prior.
