The National Football League is placed under scrutiny for reconstructing the game of football away from its purest form. Football in its purest form is a brutal game. Injuries are common and encompass a range from a less serious sitting out one play of a game to the more serious career ending collision. Recently, football is being changed in an attempt to increase the safety of the players and the experience for fans. This endeavor is in thanks to technology, and the gathering sharing and analyzing of information occurring today. The long-term viability of the NFL is in jeopardy. The simplest rule enforcement is geared towards reducing the newly defined illegal hit to the head. In addition to the individual player’s satisfaction of being protected, preventing injury to the players also benefits the fans. When a star athlete on a team gets injured, a fan's enjoyment of the game may be lessened. When players are healthy, fans can get what they paid for, watching their favorite players and favorite team compete to the best of their abilities. To this end, the NFL implemented a program called NFL Cares. The primary objective of this program is to help serve retired players. The nature of this program is wide spread, from health care needs, financial needs, mental illness problems, among others. This is an amazing and caring example of one program the NFL has made in order to protect its own future as well as the future of retired players. From one camera to multiple cameras, to replay, to drawing on the screen, technology has enhanced the television viewing fan’s experience. The league works hard to establish a fans desire or yearning or maybe compulsion to watch the game. To achieve this, the NFL must operate in a fashion similar to the electronics company Apple. Apple tries to releases a new product every year to excite their customers and attract new customers (Entrepreneur). The NFL modifies the rules of the games and the rules which govern the drafting and trading of players in an attempt to make the game more exciting. The NFL attempts to operate more as an entrepreneur then old style stagnant management. The NFL has kept pace with the technology revolution in today's society, successfully integrating with social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook to expand their brand and appeal to a new generation. For example, in 2016, the league began to stream Thursday night football games on Twitter. This allows people to watch games who may not be at home by their television. Teams have also embraced the age of social media nicely, taking to Twitter and Instagram to make fan posts friendly and more personable. The league and teams have realized that fan experience is one key to success, and social media is a tool towards enhancing that fan experience. The
