The headnote establishes Michael Dillingham’s work position as an experienced team physician. With that information, I can already assume that the essay will be evidence Dillingham has pulled from previous experiences. Throughout the essay Dillingham gives his position on the negative effects of the drugs, and explains who agrees with his position. Applied ethics is the moral reasoning behind the use of the drug and its advantages and disadvantages. With applied ethics the audience can be both private and public people.
On planet earth, there are more than seven billion people. Each of these people are different in their own unique way. A person's personality defines them the most as a person. These traits dictate how we live our life and how other people get to know us as a person. The three adjectives my friends use to describe me are competitive, active and happy.
In almost any novel there is at least one character that comes out the strongest in the end. They prove their strong in various ways including, what decisions they make, how they interact with other characters and how others react to them. Being strong does not make a character a positive influence or a negative one. And a strong character does not always have to be physically strong but can be mentally strong instead, in Ethan Frome, Zeena proved herself as the strongest character. Despite being sickly, Zeena displayed more traits of a strong protagonist than Ethan and Mattie.
Ethical theories are ways of telling right from wrong and include guidelines of how to live and act in an ethical way. For example when faced with a difficult situation in your life, you can use ethical theories to assist you in making the right decision. One key theory is consequentialism, which says that an individual’s correct moral response is related to the outcome/ consequence of the act and not its intentions/ motives. Early writers on this theory were Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill, a modern writer is Peter Singer. For example Brenda Grey has asked for the asthma specialist to visit her weekly, and to decide if this is necessary the professionals involved have to look at how it would affect her wellbeing.
Ethical principals include autonomy, veracity, and fidelity. If we look into each principle, there is violation in all three. Autonomy is the respect for an individual’s right to self-determination. Veracity is the obligation to tell the truth, and fidelity is our duty as healthcare professionals to do what one has promised (Silvestri, 2011). The patient’s has the right to decide whom does he want to be involve in his care.
The Impact of Principal Beliefs and Core Ethical Teachings on the Daily Lives of Adherents in Christianity and Islam. Christianity and Islam, two of the world's largest religions, have deeply rooted principal beliefs and core ethical teachings that continue to influence the daily lives of their adherents. These influences manifest in various aspects of life, including worship, social conduct, and moral decision-making. This essay explores how religious principles shape the lives of Christians and Muslims, supported by references to sacred texts and scholarly sources. *
Chris McCandless, whose story is analyzed in Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, is a young adult who decides to leave his known habits and material belongings behind and live a completely self-sufficient life in the wilderness, a choice which ultimately leads to his death. In doing that, he also forfeits his family and friends. With that in mind, a question can be posed regarding the ethics of said behavior. As a childless, single and financially independent man, Chris McCandless has absolute ownership of his body and thus his decision to continue doing a sport that he knows can kill him is ethically defensible.
My definition of having a strong character is being kind, thoughtful, respectful to others, and to treat others as you want to be treated. These characteristics also define who I am as a person, I put others in front of myself and always treat others as I would want them to treat me. An example of this Mike Smith’s quote “Speak for the silent and stand for the broken”. Last year’s leadership class took a trip down to Michigan State University to listen to motivational speaker Mike Smith, he told us about what he did to help others and what we could do to help others.

Some important characteristics include: “She has a story goal that defines the narrative, She is flawed, She captures our attention, She changes over the course of the story, She does not exist as a support for another character, She has the ability to stand up to the antagonist” (The Six). Each of these characteristics make up who she is, and why she is seen as strong. Here is a little more detail on each of those six attributes. Her Goal: She must achieve something, or get relief from something. Her Flaws: she is not perfect, and her flaws could change the course of the story.
The third school I am addressing, virtue ethics, is the approach that emphasizes virtues in contrast to approaches which emphasize duties or consequences( Hursthouse, 2003). Virtue ethics houses three central concepts, which are derived from the Greek notions of virtue ethics. The three concepts are arete, which is virtue, phronesis, which is practical wisdom, and eudaimonia, which is flourishing and can be seen as the proper goal of human life according to Aristotle. The state of eudaimonia can be reached by practicing virtues that allow a person to flourish at its purpose.
Firstly, I am persistent. No matter how many times I fail, when I really want something, I won’t stop until I get it, so I wouldn’t stop trying until I helped my patient to find a solution for his/her problem. Secondly, I am interested, like to listen to other stories and hate it when they end up sadly. Ever Since I was little, I have loved to talk to others about their personal experiences and give advice when they needed it because it killed me to see that something was bothering them. Thirdly, I am loyal, so if someone asks me not to tell something to others I won’t tell and if I say that I won’t tell, I most of the time fulfill my word.
These personality trates make me who I am. Another thing about personalities are the qualities that you possess. For example, my qualities are very close to my personality type. I have a kindness in me along with the forgiveness
As children, we were taught by our parents that it is wrong to lie, cheat, and steal. As we grow up and enter into the real world with some knowledge of right and wrong, we see, first hand, the importance of ethics as well as its complexity. The role of ethics in our society and in an individual’s life is very necessary because it has a large influence on today, as well as the future. We need to learn about good ethics because they guide our decisions, make us who we are, and determine our future.
