To illustrate, when discussing keeping children and adolescents active it’s stated that, “61.5% of children aged 9-13 years do not participate in any organized physical activity during their non-school hours and 22.6% do not engage in any free-time physical activity”(986).
Dr. Daniel Gould, director of the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports, in his essay “Are High School Sports Good For Kids?” argues that problems with high school sports are beginning to outway the benefits.. He supports his claim by providing evidence of how sports are beneficial to kids, explaining the problems within sports, and extending the importance of what creates a positive response from sports. Gould’s purpose is to inform coaches, principals, and parents about what makes sports beneficial and how to prevent the problems in order to allow kids to learn and become better citizens. He establishes an informative tone for coaches, principals, and parents.
Physical education, exercise science, and sports professionals all play a significant role in getting students, clients, and players to meet the goals and objectives of Healthy People 2020 and The Surgeon General’s Vision for a Healthy and Fit Nation. Having a healthy lifestyle starts at an early phase in life. According to the text, “Adolescence is an important age for developing health habits that will persist into adulthood (79).” With that said, in order for them to have that healthy lifestyle they must become educated about the risks of inactivity as early as possible. Physical education is an “ongoing process of learning” that is incorporated in schools so that students learn to use that knowledge throughout their lives and also learn to enjoy doing it.

The importance of children’s athletics is for kids to have fun. When the child stops getting enjoyment out of the sport, then it is the parent’s job to take them out. Sports can have many positive effects on a child’s life, but it is important to remember too much of a good thing can make it a hurtful thing. As the culture of youth athletics spirals out of control, it is the parent’s responsibility to save the child from short-term and, unfortunately, long-term damage. Parents need to evaluate how far they are willing to go for youth athletics and when they will have taken their obsession too

Participation trophies diminish the meaning of winning and produce a lack of motivation among our youth today. Though rewarding all players with a trophy is counteractive, positive reinforcement is not. Positive reinforcement is key in the process of encouraging adolescents to continue to pursue the sport they are playing. The winners should receive a trophy to endorse their hard work and accomplishment; those who lost, but kept playing, should receive a non-materialistic item such as a pizza party or ice cream to acknowledge their determination when playing the game. Throughout the semester, I have gained a better understanding of adapted physical education and sport programs. These programs provide children and adults with an opportunity to participate in sports they may not have thought were possible. The modifications to sport and exercise allows individuals with a range of disabilities to engage in activity. The disabilities can range from a mild learning disability to a permanent condition caused from a serious accident. While observing numerous individuals with disabilities, I was able to obtain a better understanding of the challenges that came with physical activity.
The Trinity is a Christian belief about God. It is said that the Trinity consists of three people (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) but they are all the one and only God, as well as the trinity, the trinity is God. The Trinity can symbolize many things but more importantly, the Trinity is something that helps Christians to understand God more and what he is like, also while showing the multiple roles he plays. The Trinity is also an example of how Christians should connect with God. Chrstians are taught to Worship God the Father, View God the Son as a role model and listen to his teachings, God the Holy Spirit lives in them.
In today's society, sports has become a very popular leisure activity and a means of effective physical movement for many young children across the United States. The evidence, publications, and, data on youth sports, has shown and proved the positive effects of children's participation in sports: benefits that ranged from real world applications to personal characteristics. The structure of youth sports aid students in learning the importance of life skills such as teamwork; the development of` a strong sense of morality; and an understanding and appreciation of diversity. Parents are also given the blessing and comfort of their children being statistically least likely to engage in deviant behavior and becoming academically more proficient. Despite the various benefits that children experience through playing sports, there still remains a high amount of students mainly minority students who are unable to participate in sports.
Putting the fun back into physical activity for children will do wonders to foster PA. You don’t see children playing in neighborhoods anymore. A constructive approach to developing outdoor free play is, in my opinion, the cornerstone of developing a love of doing, moving, and being physically active. Many children don’t enjoy the harshness of competitive sport (I was one of them) but do enjoy being out and about doing things. As a child play that involved running, cycling, swimming, and skating were all the things that I truly loved.
The first reason sports help kids these days is by making them have a healthy lifestyle with good food and lots of exercise. This huge, as it stops kids from always eating junk and binging T.V. Sports let kids exercise in a healthy way through the important practice and energy required in competitive sports, which is encouraged by kids desire to win and get better, and forces kids to exercise by also getting better. For example, Kirk Mango (a physical educator, former coach, and national champion) says, “fitness improvements achieved through training... In a society where obesity has become a major health issue”(Mango, 2012). This shows that sports are a good way to keep people healthy.
In recent years studies have found that some kids have been steering away from sports. Numbers in kids playing sports has gone down nearly 4 percent from 2009, according to a widely cited survey by the Sports and Fitness Industry Association. Total sports played have plummeted by nearly 10 percent. People were curious why this was happening, so studies were conducted to find out. The researchers found out that there have been added pressures by three main sources, parents, coaches, and self pressure.
One of the key to the successful teaching of physical education is the use of a broad range of approaches and methodologies. As it is acknowledged that schools, classes and teachers will vary, some methods will suit particular circumstances better than others, and the nature of the strands themselves necessitates the use of a variety of teaching methods. There is a need to examine the teaching methods which will best enhance the achievement of the objectives, taking factors such as the content and context of the lesson into account, as well as the needs of the learner. Teaching means sharing, guiding, changing behavior, impressing, disciplining, counseling, directing and inspiring. Good teaching is a process of producing end products of
