The Yuma territorial prison is located in Yuma Arizona. The reason why it’s there is actually smart. They put the prison there because if a criminal ever tried to escape it would be almost impossible. The area surrounding the Yuma Territorial prison would make it hard for the criminals to escape, Gila River is in the East, Colorado RIver in the North, the small town of Yuma in the West and a Desert to the South making every way a runaway criminal would go very hard. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote a very empowering speech in August 28, 1963 and an informative letter in the margins of a newspaper on April 16, 1963. Dr. King took his time to speak out for every African Americans rights, that made him known as the leader of the Civil Rights Movement. The speech that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr wrote “I have a Dream” gives a pathos feel, building ups emotions towards real equality for each and every person, and not just separate, but equal living conditions. It also gives a logos appeal. The speech also called for Civil and Economic Rights.
Civil rights leader and social activist Martin Luther King Jr. wrote a world renown correspondence, Letter From Birmingham Jail, in April of 1963, during a time when segregation was at it’s peak in the South. When King was making his mark in American history, the United States was experiencing great social unrest due to the injustice towards their colored citizens, which would lead to social rights rallies and unnecessary violence. In response to King’s peaceful protesting, the white community viewed “[his] nonviolent efforts as those of an extremist,” and subsequently imprisoned the pastor (para 27). King specifically wrote to the white clergymen who had earlier addressed a letter to him as to why he was apprehended, in which they argued that his actions were untimely and unconstitutional. In response, King emphasized that justice is never timely, and the refusal to acknowledge equal rights was inhumane and regressive.
The Civil War prison camps were very important in the Civil War because they were responsible for claiming thousands of lives from both sides. What were these prison camps used in the Civil War? They were places where each side would keep most of their Prisoners of War, or more commonly known as P.O.W.’s, incarcerated. The camps were usually coastal fortifications, old buildings, existing jails, or barracks enclosed with high fences. Conditions at these camps were very harsh and the mortality rate, or the chance you have of getting out alive, was on average 27%.

In the letter kind defended Kings beliefs on Nonviolent Protests, King also counters the accusations of him breaking laws by categorizing segregation laws into just and unjust laws. King uses this principle to help persuade others to join him in his acts of civil disobedience.

In the British prisons, some practices and policies have also been implemented, which reflect the positive impacts of prisoners’ mental health and wellbeing. Management Styles for Prison Solutions As a prison warden, it is one’s duty to manage and oversee the everyday activities of correctional facility staff, to ensure safety and security of the facility, and to make sure inmates are treated properly (Prison, 2018). A warden’s job is so complex that they are many times aided by assistant wardens, for the purpose of lightening their workloads. Often, they deal with common issues such as food complaints and lack of proper medical care availability. It is important that these types of problems are resolves before they escalate. The Authoritarian, Democratic, and Laissez-faire management style are all management styles that can potentially be a solution to fixing issues within a prison facility.
