For years the media has portrayed private investigators as a fictional character such as Sherlock Holmes, or Magnum P.I.. but in all reality that is not the case, most private investigators work for clients in legal trouble that need them to find something the police haven't been able to find or aren't willing to. Private investigating would be a good career choice if solving problems and trailing people is something that is interesting then become a private investigator. But if danger and hard work are not interesting then don’t. Another skill that is required is patience being a private investigator is a job that takes a lot of work and long hours and even after that you still might not solve your problem. Some of the cons of this job would include long hours, not a set salary, have to deal with sad or angry people, not a new up and coming career. Some pros are your hours aren't set in stone if you like that, don’t always need a college or tech school degree. And finally location ideally most firms would want to be in larger cities due to the fact that there are more people meaning more likely hood of a large client
