He proposes that these children will always feel cheated

The shield players do not stop the ball, but rather prevent the defence from stopping it. The ball is sent to a player on the forward line. Free Hits inside the 25-yard Line In November 2009, the Hockey Rules Board added a new rule to the rulebook.
“There is the argument that removing fighting would make the NHL less safe, the notion that without the frozen frontier justice provided by enforcers, dirty players would take head shots and cheap shots with impunity (Boston Globe).” Referees also oversee fights supposedly regulating and making them safer for players involved. Statistics from the NHL website have indicated that fights have been declining as teams have transitioned over to a more skilled game as opposed to a physical style of play. Fighting has also been shown as detrimental to players’ health, putting them at a higher risk for injuries, particularly to the head. Since 1980, teams in the top three for fighting have only finished at the top of the league ten times out of a possible 34.
Physical contact: The main difference of opinion between work force ’s and womanhood ’s lacrosse comes down to contact. In the men’s biz , body-checking is legal — and encouraged (especially by coaches) — while in the women’s game, it is not. As a result, there is far less protective equipment in the women’s game: Men wear helmet , lip guard , baseball glove , shoulder joint inking pad , elbow digs , and often rib lodgings , whereas women wear mouth guards and protective eyewear, but (with the exception of goalies) no helmets or 7 senses of pad

As Rodney Dangerfield once said, “I went to a fight the other night and a hockey game broke out (Avery),” but the matter of the fact is, this may not be all that true anymore. Fighting in hockey is what makes the sport so exciting and engaging to the audience. Fights in hockey should not be banned because there are already sufficient penalties, the number of fights is rapidly decreasing, and fights actually keep the players safer. First of all, there are already plenty of sufficient penalties. There are plenty of ways a player could get a penalty, including body checking, checking from behind, chargeing, cross-checking, elbowing, headbutting, head contact, high stick, etc (“USA”).
It all began in Colorado Springs, 1979 as Herb Brooks interviewed with the Unites States Olympic Committee of Hockey. Playing hockey has allowed me to meet new people, learn to work with others towards a common goal, and also be a leader to those who need it. Being a goalie is a position unlike any other. It is the only position in any team sport that has you playing for a team, but at the same time makes you feel like the most alone person on the planet. For example your team can be performing
Illegal hits in girls hockey turn legal It has always been a controversial issue that girls should not be tough or strong, but many women today have moved past that judgement and shown that they can and will be stronger than many men. Hockey for example is a rough sport to play in, and many people believe that girls should be limited to how much body contact is allowed because girls ‘aren’t tough enough to take a hit.’ Girls should be able to check in women's hockey at all levels. Some say girls should not be able to check in hockey because they ‘wouldn’t be able to handle it’
“I remember that game, because it was the most excited I have ever seen anybody get for a hockey game,” says Tom Viehman, a firsthand witness to the 1980 US Olympic team beating the unbeatable Soviet Union on the world stage of the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. “Nobody thought that these college kids would even stand a chance against any team, much less the best team in the world.” They were just a bunch of kids in their early 20s, that had played against each other before in tournaments and exhibitions in the NCAA. There was some bad blood between a few players in the origins of the team, like forward Rob McClanahan and defenseman Jack O’Callahan got into a scrum on the ice, based on a college rivalry between the University Of Minnesota and Boston University in the national semifinal on March 26, 1976. Other than that, the team spent a whole lot of time together, and became close friends.
I believe that this speech will appeal to my audience because it is something that many of them wont know much about. With the class being much of teenager’s, sports are something that they usually like. For the adults in the class it will give them a chance to finally learn what hockey is all about. Being Canadian, hockey is huge for us. Knowing a lot about this sport could help those who just can’t figure it out have a better understanding.
You never really know the true value of something, until you almost loose it. Growing up I was always involved with competitive sports. I would always make the highest-level hockey team that I could for my age group. Hockey has always been something that I was naturally talented at.
