Today when I am writing this is September 7th, 2016 and I have just finish reading Professor Estep’s draft in class. After reading her introduction, which she talked about being in a situation where you have to chose to give or not to give money to a stranger on the street, it had me thinking about how last week I was in a similar situation. It was Saturday the 3rd and I was at Kroger pumping gas when a white male approached me. He handed me a cd and explained to me about how the music was about non-violence and equality. Before he walked away he asked me if I would give him a small donation. I just started a new semester in college and that means time to buy new books. Last year I made the mistake of buying my books new from the school’s bookstore. I knew that this year I wanted to save as much money as possible. Amazon was a great choice for me to buy used books at a low price. I did my researched and was able to find books that were in good condition and in my budget range. I purchased three books that I thought were around a decent price range. My total for three books was just $101.46 and I thought that was a bargain. I honestly thought I would spend more but when patience I was able to find these low budget books. I felt great after purchasing these because I ended up saving a lot of money just by buying second hand books. I view these purchases as a great way for me to become successful in my classes. After reading “The Funds, Friends, and Faith of Happy People “by David Myers. Myers asked “Would a little more money makes you a little happier? “(15) I really do believe with a little more money I can be happier than what I am now. I enjoy driving sports car and if I had enough money I would purchase one for myself but that’s not the case. Fortunately, I am able to somewhat experience if more money can make you happier.
