A. The failure cycle is “when a teen reacts in his life with low self-esteem and a poorly developed system of values, the discouragement and negative behavior that follow usually produce more negative events” (Popkin, M., 2009, p.117). Of the 5 B’s, the two I agree with part of my style of parenting are breastfeeding, and belief that crying is an important signal. Two B’s I do not think will be are wearing baby in sling and co-sleeping. I agree with breastfeeding mostly because of the bonding a parent gains in the little bit of time the two have with each other. The health benefits that are associated with breastfeeding works in favor for both the mother and infant. Breastfeeding helps the mother recover from quickly from childbirth and breastfeeding helps the infant get the necessary nutrient that formulas could not offer. Crying is another I agree with because crying is a form of communication to alert the parents as to what may be the problem with the infant. Babies usually want to be soothe when they are crying. The two B’s I don’t agree with are a baby in a sling, I feel like the infant doesn’t get enough breathing room or doesn’t feel comfortable in it and babies can’t really express that to the parent. Co sleeping is another I don’t agree with and that is because it can be a bit risky for the baby at times. Especially with new parents who become extremely tired and can mistakenly roll on the baby or the baby can easily fall between the bed and the wall. 5.
