Leaders at all levels of the Army are faced with difficult decisions every day, decisions that can affect the lives of everyone around them. The thought processes used by individual leaders to make decisions can be as far reaching as their imagination; however, it is every leader’s responsibility to make these decisions using the tenants of mission command. Mission command is not an easy skill to master, however great leaders understand it and the proper use of it when planning a mission. Mission command is broken down into six major principles: Build cohesive teams through trust, create a shared understanding, provide a clear commanders’ intent, exercise-disciplined initiative, use mission orders and accept prudent risk . General Douglas
SNC’s initial plan and scheme of maneuver was just to utilize the direction and distance provided. During the execution, SNC stepped off in a direction about 90 degrees from the direction of attack. Once into the tree line,
Harsh action and on time or on spot must be taken against soldiers that commit lack of discipline braking orders and superior command guidance. This way, current and future military leaders can avoid negative climate command. Chain of command must be clearly expressed prior to the beginning of any operation. To avoid misunderstanding, only the immediate commander must distribute orders and instructions to his subordinate commander during the battle. In order to prevent faulty assumptions, the conclusion about enemy’s intentions must be drawn after obtaining reliable information and analyzing it.
A clear intent ‘helps-supporting commanders act to achieve the commander’s desired results without further orders.’ He gathered Thomas, Crittenden, and McCook on the evening of the 19th, issued their orders, read them outload, and explained their missions to them. His orders originally ‘were sound, simple, and brought clarity’ to subordinate commanders for the morning of the 20th. But after inspecting their execution of his intent, he began a ‘complex shuffling around of divisions in the late morning’ during which came the ‘fatal order.’ Rosecrans becomes his own greatest foe by issuing too many incomplete and ambiguous orders.
(Pragmatographia) (GT) All military generals are orderly, and no non-orderly man is a militant general. (St) The general arranged his men in a proper well-ordered fashion, because this was the best way to counter an entrenched enemy. (GT) Soldiers who follow a well-designed thought out battle plan usually do not end up loosing. (GT) Pakenham guided his men into the proper set up for the situation the Americans put him into.
This approach allowed General Petraeus’ subordinate commanders to issue their own commander’s intent to facilitate the same end state. As demonstrated, leadership is adaptive to the current situation. General Petreaus chose to have more involvement with is the selection of the potential candidates and the style in which the election would take place. This proved to be a challenging task. He had to constantly reassess and reexamine the possible candidates due to past ties that would resurface during subsequent interviews.
Candidate Maxwell’s performance was commendatory. He took less than one minute to compose his five paragraph order and delivered it with the confidence and clarity of someone who had rehearsed. The details in the order were identical to that of which he received. During the movement to the objective, he was alert and able to control his fire team while maintaining awareness of the situation and environment around him. Candidate Maxwell was able to identify the enemy prior to being engaged, and made the decision to immediately fire at the enemy showing a biased for action.

The year was 1974 and President Richard Nixon found himself in the middle of what is best known as the water gate scandal. What exactly happened and how big of a role Nixon played is still up for debate to this day. One thing that had come to light was that accusations began that President Nixon used campaign money to take part in the scandal. Shortly after his resignation from office the Federal Elections Campaign Act was amended by congress so that greater limits were set on campaign spending. What the amendment put into place where two major limits, one being a limit on the amount of money an individual can give for campaigns and the other was a limit on campaign spending.

The General determines that our delay shall contribute to the improvement of discipline. This day was occupied as yesterday in the exercise of the Troops. It is a pleasing circumstance to observe their rapid progress in the science of Tactics. They are emerging from a state of ignorance, to the honourable qualifications of soldiers. The appearance of our army on the field, their order, discipline and marching entitle them to the praise of regular Troops.
The Campaign Conundrum Is the United States regressing into an oligarchy in which legislative representatives side with the rich instead of their constituents? One critical component of a representative democracy is the way in which elections and campaigns are run. Campaign finance reform is a heavily debated topic that has become increasingly relevant in light of the 2010 Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commision (FEC) Supreme Court decision to lift restrictions on soft money, which is money that isn’t directly connected with a campaign, in an effort to protect the First Amendment rights of unions and corporations. This decision nullified much of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. The BCRA established limits on soft money contributions,
Incumbents are individuals who currently hold a position in office. When it comes to reelection they are more likely to win than they are to lose. Constituents are people who live in the area the incumbent is in charge of. Serving their constituents, having an easier time raising campaign money and redistricting provide incumbents advantages with being reelected. On the other hand, disruptive issues, personal misconduct, election challengers and Super PACs can make it hard for incumbents to get reelected.
Not committing to the task could potentially suggest that they were incompetent or lack the capacity as a military personnel so facing ‘dangers’ was a much preferred option. Additionally, discipline in the military can be seen when an officer makes his salutes appropriately, their conduct, to the state of their uniform and even how they present themselves in public. While discipline in military is rewarded as it is a sign of respect and duty, misconduct on the other hand is punishable. When discipline is lacking in an army personnel, it not only affects their own performance but also the team as a whole. It is therefore important to instil discipline early and effectively.
