Democratic Pat Quinn versus Republican Rauner is quite the debate most people might say. You have Quinn running for reelection and Rauner as the new guy on the block a very successful businessman. Pat Quinn has had many years of political experience. Quinn has been Governor, State of Illinois, 2009-present; Lieutenant Governor, State of Illinois, 2002-2009; Appointed, State of Illinois Governor, January 2009; Treasurer, State of Illinois, 1991-1995; Commissioner, Board of Tax Appeals, Cook County, 1982. He also won the award for Governor of the Year by Biotechnology Industry Organization in 2011. One of Quinns’ endorser is the President, Obama. Also Mrs. Obama does a commercial on how Obama and herself will be voting for Pat Quinn. She states that she will endorse him because he will watch out for the poor people and help the veterans. Having the President can be a huge advantage for the fact of he is such a powerful man people look at and this can push some votes. Rauner on the other hand has many newspapers endorsing him such as Quad-City Times. Many people read the newspaper and if they keep seeing his name in a positive manner they will think positive of him. The reason for endorsing Rauner is probably because Rauner is paying them to endorse him. In the Chicago Tribune it stated that Rauner has already put in an addition $1.5 million into his campaign . Rauner has the money to pay newspapers to endorse him. In this race to win voters both Quinn and Rauner agree on the issue we need to improve education and we shouldn’t destroy the budget on teachers. In the issue of education they both believe that should improve it, Rauner believe we should reward the teachers who are improving students educations.
