Keeping valued information, or keeping the outside world from the public is called censorship. Censorship varies on the levels of helpful to harmful. From keeping kids away from bad influences to the government not telling citizens where troops are located, censorship will continue affecting generations to come. Censorship, used by those in power to protect or control a society or group, leads to removing potential trauma to children, threatens anyone who opposes, and takes away rights. Censorship can be used to protect others like when a parent doesn 't let their children watch or read something. A parent might not want their kids to be exposed to some materials like blood and gore or many other graphic materials to keep them from being scarred for life. There have been some restrictions to try and correct this problem. One solution to this problem is,"imposing age limits on media that may be inappropriate for children."("Censorship") This can happen whenever kids want to watch movies. Companies put ratings on the movies to help parents decide whether they would be allowed to watch a movie."The PG rating indicates in the view of the Rating Board, that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, and parents should make that decision."("Media Violence") Another way that parents can censor what their kids are exposed to is censoring what they read.
