The mandatory draft. An infamous rule that, during times of war, all men of a country within a certain age range must sign up for the military, without any choice in the matter. Many believe that, in the U.S.A., where everyone is free, that mandatory draft does not apply. It seems logical. In a land where one is free to make their own choices, not the government, it would make sense that mandatory draft does not exist.
Mandatory overtime is an issue faced by many nurses across the nation. It is seen as a solution to the nursing shortage crisis; however, it is not a sustainable solution as it has led to an increase in medical errors, increased patient mortality, decreased job satisfaction, nurse fatigue, and deficits in nurse’s work performance. Several states have enacted or are considering laws to prohibit this problem. According to Rubenfire, “This is something that's been going on in hospitals for a very long time,” Ruben noted. “But it is not as focused on as much in the past.”
Over the course of time Americans have been fighting for the right of freedom. There was a once a time when only white males who owned land were able to vote. However, now some individuals are requesting that America has a mandatory voting law. Mandatory voting is the creation of a law to obligate every American citizen vote. If any citizen does not vote, he or she may face consequences such as a fine.
The political debate for and against felon disenfranchisement has compelling arguments on both sides. In the US, over 6 million felons are barred from voting due to laws that prevent felons with a sentence to vote (Chung). The number of imprisoned has been growing over the past 40 years, as the increasing number of imprisoned felons is directly correlated with an increasing number of disenfranchised felons. However, a more jarring statistic reveals that most disenfranchised felons in the United States are of a racial or ethnic minority. Based on information from the 2010 US Census Bureau, about 36 percent of disenfranchised felons are African American.
In this day and age, There are five times as many people in jail as there were in the 1970s. Almost 5 percent of the population of the United States will go to prison at in point of their life. Conservatives believe that imprisonment reduces crime in two ways: it removes criminals from the public so they can not commit more crimes, and it also discourages people who would commit a crime as they consider the consequences. Unfortunately, neither of these outcomes have come to be true. In fact, mass incarceration and “tough on crime” laws have been extremely ineffective that instead of reducing crime, it increases it.

Living things that are best suited, or adapted, to their environment survive and multiply. Those that are not, are unable to survive.

Eugenics is the science of using artificial selection to improve genetic features of the population. It is thought that improvement of the human race can be seen through sterilization of people who exhibit undesirable traits and selective breeding. Often called Social Darwinism, the concept was widely accepted during the time of World War I. It quickly became a taboo after World War II when Nazi Germany used it as an excuse for genocide. The thought of improving the human race by manipulating who is allowed to breed can either be appalling or compelling.

Artificial Selection/ Natural Selection When the word artificial comes to my mind fake thoughts run through me, like water runs down your throat. Artificial christmas trees, flowers, foods, anything artificial you can think of, almost everyone has it and has produced it. As you read this, do you have any idea what artificial means? Said on dictionary.com, artificial means produced by humans, not occurring naturally. For example, artificial selection would be taking a wild animal, such as a whale, living in the huge ocean and putting him/her in a place like Seaworld, where they don’t adapt to the environment well, and are not used to the resources and rules.

Also, it would ensure all receive basic skills to place themselves further within other job careers. Finally, the mandatory service brings better awareness and participation with the government.
