NON-JOCKS DESERVE A CHANCE As we embark on another school year, could we have the attention of the teachers with the whistles around their necks and the clipboards in their hands? We expect that they are more generous to students who aren’t good at sports. Their mercy can make these students the sport enthusiasts. Some people consider a ball as a terrifying thing. If it’s round and belongs to some sports they see it as an enemy, because it is a big one that is supposed to soar over the net or a bitty sphere that fits into a hole in the ground. It is said that 50 percent of Americans grow up shying away from sports. Some of you, the gym teachers, are to blame. You should change your attitudes and be compassionate for three reasons: Americans grow up shying away from sports, having unfavorable coach and being limited the growth of mindset. How do you treat the class klutz? Have you only added to her agony when she comes to you banged around by the scorn and snickers of the playground and her own self-inflicted bruises from tripping over herself?
