I have heard of a lobbyist before but never fully understood what it meant or what they do. A lobbyist is a person who tries to influence legislation on behalf of a special interest. Jack Abramoff scandal was an extreme example of influence and corruption in the United States government. It stated in the video that Abramoff "symbolizes how money corrupts Washington." This is important because it shows how congressmen don't think they are being bought or influenced. In the video, Abramoff stated, "human beings fill our system, human beings are weak." I think this illustrates how Abramoff was able to almost use a chain of connections to influence nearly one hundred congress offices. In conclusion, I agree with Abramoff's statement of, "the people
