Medicine is an art or a science
It has several meanings. It could be used as an alternative word to drug and most of the simple-minded people look at it as just science, biology to be specific. Medicine can be defined as the practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. It could be also the study of human structure and function to be able to save the organisms life. But medicine is so much more than that.
Branches of medicine
Medicine is divide in to many branches including: Anesthesiology the study of anesthetic drugs to achieve a state of total unconsciousness during surgery. Cardiology the study of heart, blood vessels and their diseases. Dermatology the branch of medicine that deals with treatment of skin diseases. Gynecology is the study of the female reproductive system. Neurology is the studies of the nervous system and its diseases. Ophthalmology is the branch that deals with eye problems. Radiology where medical imaging (x-ray, MRI, CT scan...) is employed to treat diseases and abnormalities. Surgery......... There are so many that we can count them. All these branches require both creativity and knowledge. But the question is ' ' Is medicine art or a science? ' '.

A great example is in dermatology in you first are required to study the anatomy and physiology of the human body (which are sciences). You must also experiment on the skin using several chemicals to treat this disease and prevent it from further growth. Then we develop theories and try to justify the reason these abnormalities occur on the skin.
