Did you know that the U.S has the oldest constitution in the world? A constitution is a framework for a government and our government has many different parties of government. Why do we need a republican-democratic government?
In the upcoming US presidential election of 1800, John Adams, a member of the Federalist party, is running for reelection against Thomas Jefferson, a member of the Democratic-Republican party. John Adams favors a strong national power and limited state power. He believes that common people are incapable of governing themselves and is against too much individual freedom. The people who support him are high class citizens such as bankers, manufacturers, and merchants. On the other hand, Thomas Jefferson favors a weak national government and believes that the people are capable of ruling themselves.
Therefore, I believe the Democratic Party best represents my views on government because I agree with the party’s liberal views. The Democratic Party is one of the contemporary political parties in the United States today, along with the Republican Party. Democrats repeatedly encounter trouble with voicing consensus in a debate that centers more and more on the means of the established foreign policy rather than on its ends. In spite of common support for multilateralism and America’s role as a Global Good Samaritan, Democrats have teetered between the assertions of the “dove” and “hawk” wings of their party since the Vietnam War. As a result, the splintered facets of the Democratic Party have perpetuated the perception that Democratic political leaders are not relevant in the foreign policy arena. Furthermore, Democratic public servants (particularly Democratic Presidents) consistently present notions of America’s global leadership that demonstrates the divide among the party elite and the

However, for better or worse, political parties are linkage institutions that dominate our politics and election system. Many Americans define their political identity and views by their membership in a political party-generally Republican or Democrat. These two parties capture the vote of the majority of American voters, however the influence of third parties should not be discounted. The Green Party was founded in 2001 and is based around social justice and environmentalism.
Definition Essay Rough Draft Government is an important aspect in today’s world, especially regarding the opposition of being either a republican, democrat, or falling somewhere in between. One may identify them self as being one or the other, but how does one come to the conclusion of being a republican instead of a democrat or vice versa? It all comes down to how a person defines government and different political parties. A person may base his or her political beliefs off of what is said in media or from what one is accustomed to, but various questions and concerns regarding what ideas one supports go into picking the “right” political party.
Many voters have said the ongoing presidential election is a matter of choosing “the lesser of two evils.” Some have resorted to voting for the third-party candidates Gary Johnson and Jill Stein to solve this dilemma, but the reality is the significantly low percentages of the election poll for these candidates gives little chance for either of them to win the presidency. For voters choosing between the major party candidate nominees, the major deciding factors are the policies of each candidate and which issues a candidate chooses to focus on. Such policies include education, environmental issues, foreign policy, and rights to disabled citizens. If I were able to vote in the election, I would cast my vote for Democratic candidate Hillary

Since the founding of the United States, there have been two main parties.
