Are Professional Athletes Overpaid?
Throughout my life I have experienced many arguments and disputes over the salary of professional athletes. Professional athletes are paid unnecessary amounts of money for many reasons. They are part of huge billion dollar businesses, and if they were to remove themselves from that business, then the whole business would fall apart. They should be paid a large sum of money, but they shouldn’t be paid as much as they do now. This is because there are so many Americans that have put themselves through colleges and universities in order to achieve a high-paying and impactful job, and they still don’t get paid as much in one year, as professional athlete gets in one game, the professional sports businesses are way too money-oriented, and there are so many struggling Americans living on the edge of life that would do anything for even a small amount of money. …show more content…

While doctors are physically impacting society by saving lives, professional athletes are playing a game. It doesn’t seem fair to American’s whose jobs have a great impact on people’s lives more so than professional athletes to be payed a tremendous amount less. Many Americans have endured the tedious life of college to get where they are.
