What is a travel ban? The travel ban is a government restriction that prohibits a person from entering the United States of America, to be specific, refugees. What are refugees? According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, its a person who has been forced to leave his/her country in order to escape wars, persecutions, or natural disasters. In fact, Americans see them as a negative thing towards our nation 's economy, security, and safety.
Refugees are willing to help the US economy grow. Many are blinded and don’t realize that “Refugee resettlement has significant and demonstrable positive economic impacts in America,” (De Pena and La Corte). These people give a major contribution to the economy, but no one realizes how important that contribution really is. They are contributing by working at established companies. They are starting new businesses which open up to providing goods, services and even new jobs for Americans (De Pena and La Corte). The evidence, that America has more workers at established companies and new businesses that other countries possibly don’t have, supports the idea of accepting refugees to come to the United States. According to this information, the refugee settlement helps the U.S economy significantly and has a major positive impact on it. Therefore, if the government keeps rejecting refugees, they’ll be missing out on an immense opportunity to have a stronger and wealthier economy.
