Hello, Professor and Classmates! As a social worker we are mandated reporters for reporting suspected abuse. Texas law states that anyone who thinks that a child, a person with disabilities or a person sixty-five or older is being abused, neglected, or exploited must report it to Department of Family Protective Service (DFPS). According to DFPS the person who reports abuse in good faith is immune from civil or criminal liability. The perso who reports the abuse remains anonymous.
