The M100 is a bus route in Upper Manhattan that connects the neighborhoods Inwood and Washington Heights to the busy 125th Street commercial corridor in Harlem. It uses Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue to reach 125th Street. The route is constantly crowded, mainly between Washington Heights and Harlem because people are trying to get to that commercial district on 125th Street. Some other generators for the overcrowding are the major transfer points and popular destinations along the route such as the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal in Washington Heights, the Inwood business district (where connections are made to the Bx7 and Bx12 +Select Bus routes), and the 168th Street Subway station. I think this would work over all methods because whenever those are used on the M100, crowding conditions seem to be handled better due the ample amount of seating on board. This allows the M100 to keep its local service to meet its riders’ needs, while increasing its capacity. It also allows for Kingsbridge to keep its articulated fleet in the Bronx where demand on those routes is higher. If the extra buses are ordered, it also allows for the MTA to send the spare 65 standard buses to other depots that may need them for an increase in service or keep them available in the Bronx in case they are needed on other bus routes. Not only will M100 passengers reap benefits of better service, they will get buses with wifi, USB outlets, and digital display screens. The new buses also have a spacious interior (pictured
