In single-track schools, all students attend school at the same time and have the same two to three week intercessions. Single-track year-round education (ST-YRE) programs do not relieve overcrowding, a common basis for implementing YRE. Multi-track year-round education (MT-YRE) programs on the other hand divide students into groups, and then allot each group its own schedule.
