With Halloween approaching, the Teal Pumpkin Project aims to promote awareness of the severity of food allergies and inclusion for children whose food allergies preclude them from trick-or-treating. One in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, making Halloween a particularly tricky holiday as many candies contain common allergens. Additionally, a number of miniature-size candies have different ingredients than the full-size equivalents and do not include ingredient labels, making it that much more complicated to determine if the trick-or-treating loot staples are safe for children affected by allergies and intolerances. With numerous precautions required, trick-or-treating can quickly become an inconvenience rather than an enjoyment
Along with Christopher Columbus ' many discoveries, the pumpkin was one them. The pumpkin, being indigenous to the Americas, was a gourd the Europeans admired. Columbus winkled pumpkin seeds out of a pumpkin and personally brought the seeds along the Columbian trade so it may diffuse across the globe; however, the pumpkin seeds were actually used as an aliment for pigs aboard his ship during his voyages. His target location was Europe. Europe, due to Christopher 's introduction of pumpkins and other New World foods, experienced an economic, cultural, and cuisine revolution.

One of the traits of being a good leader is selflessness in a sense that a leader should be able to put his or her group before himself, and be able to give up something important to them without having to think about it too much, which is a trait that Thorin did not display in his actions very well. When Bilbo wound up with Gollum, and the dwarves didn’t know where he was, Thorin and some of the other dwarves considered leaving Bilbo behind because they thought that going back would be dangerous and slow the journey down. However, the group should have returned because group members should always stick together, and not leave anyone behind. Because it also would have been dangerous for them to do so, they could have just sent a couple of dwarves,
I cringe at the smell of alcohol floating around the apartment. A cold shiver simmers down my spine as I hear footsteps making their way to my room. 3 loud, hard knocks bang on the door. I open the door waiting for it. Waiting for the rock solid slap that pierces my face everyday leaving bruises and black eyes the size of tennis balls.
When I was 12 years old, my mom took my friends and I to the Haunted Hayride. Unfortunately, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. We got onto the hayride and there was a massive horse with a boy riding it who was headless and mean following us for about 2 minutes. For being in Middle School, I was pretty freaked out when we got off the trailer to walk through a corn maze , when then came a guy wearing a mask with a chainsaw chasing us out!!!! It was an exciting and horrid night for my friends and I.
My Trip to Florida It was a cold winter night in Upstate New York. My mom and dad were enjoying a cup of coffee, my sisters were playing video games, and I was editing a few pictures on my computer. My mom brought up the idea of a vacation. She said” We haven’t been on a vacation for a long time”.
A few years ago, when I was in 6th grade, I went to my friend Skyelar’s house who lived a few blocks away from me. She has a really cool backyard, that was pretty big. She has a trampoline, a weird spider web swing that went over this rock ledge, and a zipline. The zipline was hooked up at one end above her basement door and went through her backyard to the edge of the forest behind her house. I was pretty excited about this because… well… it was a zipline in her own backyard!
