Purgatory In Dante's Inferno

Dante’s conception of purgatory does not make sense when placed in line with Christianity. The Christian faith today is based on the life and teachings of Jesus from the study of the word of God, also known as the Bible. The Bible does not specifically state that purgatory exists.
God’s word, through numerous scriptures, only states that Heaven and Hell are the two places that exist after death. The book of Acts, in reference to Heaven, states, “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, and said, behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God” (New King James, Acts 7:55-56).
