Puritans were a group of people who left England once they became frustrated with the church; the prospect of persecution looming over their head. The puritans held God’s law as supreme over man’s law and once established in a new area they live a faith filled and strict disciplines life in a close knitted community. In second paragraph it means when it comes to sinful through the choice they make in their life and that they choose to indulge in bad behavior instead of living a good life.
