“You don’t lead by pointing and telling people some place to go. You lead by going to that place and making a case.” This quote makes the point that to be an effective leader, it is vital to be independent and have the ability to take action. These actions are most effective as a leader when they are used to help the citizens under this leadership. Authoritative leadership is effective in some circumstances, however, for the most part, collaborative leadership is the strongest way to lead because at times it is necessary to exercise control, power and fear in order to maintain decency and respect. When having concern of the people, it creates strong collaborative leadership qualities, which are very useful. According to Shakespeare’s Macbeth, it states,“What thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o ' th ' milk of human kindness To catch the nearest way. Thou wouldst be great, Art not without ambition, but without The illness should attend it”. This shows how Lady Macbeth helps Macbeth in order to achieve their goal of taking the throne by talking him through having ambition. Collaborating with him, led to him taking the throne, which meant it was a success.
