Introduction There are many different ways to collect data such as interviews, surveys, observations, documents, and records. The way that I choose to collect data is by administering a survey. This quantitative research method paper will discuss the study design, background, sample, data collection, data analysis, and any bias. The reason why I would like to conduct this proposed quantitative research is to understand why Africans mistrust healthcare professionals. Also, this quantitative research will help to understand why African Americans do not go to the doctor to regarding Alzheimer’s disease. The investigation will show the feelings of African Americans and what going to the doctors means to African Americans. The study will show how …show more content…
This variable will be measured by participants self-reporting in a survey that will be statements about participants’ history with seeking medical help. The demographic information I will be identifying is race, sex, and age. The sex will be from men and women. The age groups will range from 40 to 70.The sampling method that I propose to adopt is purposive sampling. This method refers to elements which are selected for a purpose, usually because of their unique positions. A purposive sample may be a key informant survey, which targets individuals who are particularly knowledgeable about the issues under investigation. The issue under investigation is mistrust for healthcare professionals. African Americans play an important role because they are population who deals with mistrust issues regarding healthcare professionals. African Americans are two times more likely to develop late-onset Alzheimer's disease than whites and less likely to have a diagnosis of their condition, resulting in less time for treatment and planning. African Americans are eligible for sampling because the research is about them. Other races such as Caucasian and Asians would not be eligible for sampling due to their race.
Data Collection
The data will be collected through a survey. The statistical planning for the survey will consist of attractions of the survey which is generalizability. I will be surveying a large population. The primary data that will be collected in the study for mistrust for healthcare professionals among African Americans there will be counts about how many African Americans
