Quarter 2 Book Report: Captain America
Captain America was one of the world’s most popular superhero during the Golden Age. Captain America was given hero status during the Golden Age (1938–1954) because of his inspirational qualities such as being courageous, brave, and loyal.
To begin with, Captain America is a very courageous super hero. This is one of the main reasons he looked up by many. He shows this by not letting the faintest tinge of fear linger in his heart. Captain America fought in battle and has saved many lives during WWII. “…over the course of World War II, Captain America and Bucky fought the Axis powers on multiple fronts.” Through many generations Captain America has remained their favorite superhero of many. Captain America originally was intended as a fictional hero to inspire a nation against the evils of the Axis forces. Captain America a hero in young kid’s hearts was so inspirational because of the heroic deeds he committed. Captain America showed these heroic deeds such as Captain America Comics #1 —March 194 showing Captain America punching Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in the jaw. “Rogers volunteers to receive a top-secret serum, and he is transformed into a “super soldier.” Captain America’ and clad in a red, white, and blue costume with a matching stars-and-stripes shield, Rogers joins the U.S. Army, acquires a kid sidekick—plucky regimental mascot Bucky Barnes—and embarks on a career of enthusiastic Nazi-bashing.” He protects the wounded and hurt during this time by defeating the Nazis. Captain America has shpwn his bravery by fighting off villans day in and day out. But he still believed what he knew was right even when it earned him mockery and condemnation. He never stopped fighting. When knocked down, Captain America has the will strength to stand up
