Petition to take POLSC-10-Online Hello All, As this academic year is coming to it’s conclusion, I have reflected and sorted out an academic plan that I believe is realistic for me. I plan to graduate Academy of the Redwoods with an associates degree in political science, and one day achieve a masters in the field, with a minors in American studies. There is no doubt in my mind that makes me feel incapable of finishing such as task while still achieving all high school requirements.
Surreptitiously and quietly, the posted sentries at the main entrance leading to the Dweller city of New Hope maintained their duties guarding it, keeping watch over any potential threats that may arise from beyond the entrance at any time. From the balcony that stood directly above the steel gates of the main entrance, the Dweller city guard had managed to place a small barrier of sandbags with an additional sentry gun turret, consisting of twin mounted MG42 machine guns. Even further behind the sandbags and sentry turret emplacement was a table, with two G43 semi-automatic rifles leaning on the table. Seated around the table, there were three Dwellers: two Dwellers who were part of New Hope’s city guard, and the Silent Orphan, the leader
When I was 15 I started going to day treatment. It was in Shiocton and was called Chaps Academy. It was in shiocton and was called Chaps Academy. It was for girls only and there were two groups. The first day I went to see it I saw the trainer lunging the horse.
Throughout my past four years at Weddington High School, I am inspired by the impact my teachers have given me. I believe education is the greatest gift you can give to a person who is striving to make a difference. This is something that I have been interested in for several years. I am currently a teacher assistant for Mrs. Donna Nunn’s Microsoft Word and PowerPoint class that allows me to see how lesson plans are carried out in a classroom environment and I know that this experience has given me a stronger desire to become a teacher. During my freshman year of high school, Ms. Marisa DiFronzo made literature become a very engaging subject for me, not only by her way of teaching but also her ability to bring the class together as one.
I am without a doubt that Colorado State is the school I dreamt about all these years. Growing up, I wanted a place that challenged me physically, academically, and spiritually. I believe the Colorado State Honors Program would be a great fit for me. There are many reasons why I would love to be accepted into the Honors Program. For one, it is a great challenge.
I would start off by stating that this is my second attempt at trying to get into the Riordan Scholars Program. Last year I tried, but unfortunately you guys didn 't get the transcript. From the response that I got when I was told that I wasn 't invited,it seemed as if you guys were trying sort of inviting me back to the program. Like I stated before this is my second attempt at trying to get in. As much as I hate to face it,I live in an inner city.
I could not take it anymore. My choices were to either pick up the phone or do something I could never take back. I picked up the phone and dialed the number of The Trevor Project lifeline, it was time for me to help myself. “Hello, Trevor Lifeline.” “Hi,” I said.
“Crack”, “click” was what I heard before the most excruciating pain I have ever felt filled my right knee. It was on October 7th, it was just weeks before my junior season was going to start. I was at Massillon Washington high school at wrestling practice like I was almost every day. I was drilling with the assistant coach Percy McGee hitting single legs which was my favorite move. About 40 seconds into the drill I hit another single and all of a sudden my knee locked at about 90 degrees.
Prior to moving in for the 2017-2018 school year at West Virginia University, I took an adventure orientation class through the university. I participated in the Odyssey 31 adventure over the week of Fourth of July, and had a great time and memorable experiences. Coming from near Gettysburg Pennsylvania to West Virginia University, I was nervous about not knowing anyone on campus. The Odyssey trip really helped in calming my nerves about moving onto campus. When I pulled into the parking lot on that monday of July 3rd, I knew only one person, my roommate Trevor, who I had only met once at new student orientation.
Before attending Northwest Catholic, I completed my freshman year at Renbrook School. This school not only prepared me for what was to come for my future high school years but helped shaped me into the better person I am today. As a thank you for all Renbrook had done for me, I wanted to finally become immersed in school-related activities. Prior to ninth grade year, I stayed away from any school activity, since I believed it was a waste of time, and I could just relax at home. This kind of thinking stopped me from actually becoming a part of the actual Renbrook community.
Through the Questbridge National College Match, I was able to learn about Colorado College and was given the opportunity to apply to schools I had never considered before. Questbridge has allowed me to open the possibly of where I will spending the next four years. Being chosen as a finalist for the National College Match gave me an added will to strive to attend a top tier college. Without the Questbridge organization, I would not even had considered applying schools such as Colorado College My first impression of Colorado College was through Questbridge’s partner college overview page.
An obstacle I've had to overcome throughout most of my education was the absence of assistance at home. This caused a great deal of stress on me as a kid. My grandma raised me, who is blind. This resulted in me helping take care of her since I was about the age of six or seven.
Around this time during the midst of my senior year at Windham High School I felt invincible. I was not entirely sure what my senior year had in store for me, never mind my future. My mind was on getting as far away from my hometown as possible, smiling at new faces, and learning from passionate professors. This was my idea of college; being surrounded by people who want to learn as bad as I, wanting to absorb information as bad as they want to breath. When it was time to make my final decision, I decided to attend Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire.
Anxiety replenished me when this essay was commenced as a responsibility, that I needed to accomplish. Writing is my specialty, but I did not think it would be this stressful, writing down so much information, Will I win? , Will this drop my grade if the judges don’t like it?, and more importantly, Will I win the contest? I already have so much homework on my plate from being an honors student. But I knew that as I journeyed through I can make it because failure is not acceptable and I’ll try my hardest even if it means I die of stress trying.
Courage is the ability to do something that may frighten you or be difficult to do even when there's risk. Having courage is being brave and being brave isn't the absence of fear, being brave is having that fear but finding another way through it. Here’s a true story that happened to me. Back in 2014 I walked home with my little sister(Jessica) from school. Both of my parents were not home and were currently at work.
