War, what exactly is it? To begin with, the stimulus I have chosen is “War brings out the best and the worst of us.” As most of you are well aware, war is when there is armed conflict between different nations or groups. During this period various unethical things occur, such as murder or torture. However, good things can also be done, such as: protecting the lives of loved ones. In the long run, whichever way you look at it, war brings out the best and worst of us. Moving on, I have my visual displayed on the left and the cover of tomorrow when the war began on the right. As you can see my visual displays soldiers that seem to be experiencing trouble, we know this from their facial expressions. They have firearms meaning they are fearful for their lives. Though despite this, it shows them escorting a wounded soldier or civilian. I will move on to the novel, “Tomorrow when the war began”. This novel is a great example of war. I think we’d have to take our chances and surrender.” This quote shows Ellie’s way of thinking during the war – Ellie provides an exceptional role of leadership in the group, in spite of the condition there are currently in. In order to understand what Ellie is doing, we need to view this from her perspective. The 7 teenagers came back from what they thought would be an innocent trip and were brought into a condition where a majority of their town’s population were held captive, from there Ellie had to basically lead the group through all of their hardships.
