Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay “Nature” begins with an introduction and he states, ” (Emerson 35). In the introduction of this essay, Emerson is explaining to his readers that in today’s generation, individuals seem, to be looking backwards and not forward to new experiences. In Emerson’s essay he is trying to prove to his readers that in life we will always have new experiences and he wants all of us to look and perceive nature through our own two eyes and not through someone else’s, which is something that we all seem to do. In the introduction of the essay, Emerson is questioning what the purpose of nature is in our world. In Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay “Nature,” he is arguing that beauty is something that is able to satisfy individuals because we are able to truly appreciate nature when we really take the time to enjoy it and he is arguing that nature brings us intellect. Most individuals are able to relate to this because when we are outside we all seem to take in our surroundings and think how wonderful our world is and how if it weren’t for God, we would not have all of this beauty that surrounds our lives every single day. To remember those that have died during the September 11th attack, family, friends, and other community members may attend the memorial that is located in New York City. Emerson states, (Emerson 46). What Emerson is stating here is that when an individual looks at something that is related to the study of Greece, we will think of Homer, Pindar, Socrates, or Phocion and when we look up at the sky we will realize that Jesus is the one who has created this beautiful sky that we are looking at and
