Randall Adams and David Harris were the suspects in the film. The introduces an officer at the scene stopping a car on side of the road. There was also a female officer during the event. While the first officer steps to the side of the driver's window, he is suddenly shot five times and the car drives away. It begins telling us that Adams was picked up and placed into a room, was forced to sign an already made confession. He had refused to sign, the detective came back and placed a pistol on the table, he then says for him to pick it up, Randall said no, and was threatened once more. David Harris started to brag to his friends that he was the one who killed the officer. "Swore up and down", wanted attention for the story. He later had denied being in Dallas, he denied about the shooting. However if the person felt like he was telling the truth, he would then say he had done it. He later led the detective to a swamp area, a revolver was found in the water, but seemed odd that it was in good condition for supposedly being thrown in the water. Later on, he says he was not the killer and says he knew who had committed the murder to avoid being placed in prison. Randall and his brother were in a hotel, Harris had left the area after the incident had happened previously. Randall says he [David] had pistols and rifles and was waving them around. Randall insisted he should place them away. When he asked David on why he brought the pistol out, he began firing outside the driver's side window. Randall was given the pistol and he placed it under his seat [passenger side]. They went to the outdoor movies at 7 o clock in at night and had beer. Randall begins to say they brought in a stenographer; a shorthand reporter or law reporter, to write about his story. She came back with the statement and he then began to sign it, showing he was telling the truth on what happened but not to the murder. He says he had drove the vehicle around down a road but did not remember anything after finishing his drive. The detectives are saying he just happened to "black out" once the shooting occurred. Regardless of the truth he told the woman, they wrote it off as a confession. They had kept him away from everybody.
