Music is a universal language that can bring people together and evoke strong emotions. One genre that has been that subject of much debate is rap music. While some people criticize rap music for its explicit lyrics and negative messages, others argue that it can be a powerful tool for reducing stress and bringing peace to therapeutic effects of rap music on mental health and how it can promote peace and unity. We believe that rap music can be a valuable form of art that speaks to people from all walks of life, and we hope to show that it can be a powerful and positive tool for our lives. Many rap songs talk about things that people can understand and relate to, such as love, loss, overcoming challenges. For example, the song “Love Yourz” by J. Cole talks about the importance of appreciating the things we have in life, rather than constantly seeking more. The song “I’ll Be Missing You” by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans is a tribute to the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., and explores themes of grief and loss. Similarly, my favorite rapper MoneySign Suede’s song called “Too Late” talks about difficulties in his life, such as not graduating from school, lacking a father figure, and feeling like giving up.
