The author, James C. Curtis, repeatedly points out Jackson 's flaws. He also recognizes Jackson 's strengths and gives praise for his actions when necessary. In the book the reader gets to see what made Jackson the way he was and how his past affected him throughout his life.
Substance abuse can ruin the best of relationships. Throughout Glass Castle this is demonstrated by Jeanette and her father’s relationship. Rex (Jeanette’s father), is an alcoholic which over time deteriorates his and Jeanette’s relationship. When Jeanette is a young child, she sees no flaws in her father and he is her hero. Jeanette only sees the inventive creative side to him when he explains his grand ideas.
Beatty compares Montag to the story of Icarus to show Montag’s character Development. “Old Montag wanted to fly near the sun and now that he’s burnt his damn wings, he wonders why. Didn’t I hint enough when I sent the Hound around your place?” (p. 113)
Every aspect of life impacts the human existence. The people within a man’s life, his traditions, his environment, specific events that occur within his life, and his experiences all play a significant role in shaping and molding a man into a distinct individual. These are just some of the components that attribute to a man’s thoughts, beliefs, inclinations, innermost desires, dreams and fears. Then there is an outward manifestation of these inner attributes in a man’s attitude, behaviors and actions. Some experiences and individuals are definitely influential, but then there are those that can alter a man’s life forever.
The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding is a book about a plane full of boys crashing on an island. The boys are by themselves no adults so they have to survive on their own and establish their own government. Piggy is one of the first characters we meet as a boy with poor eyesight, a weight problem and asthma so the readers already like him even if no one else likes him. Piggy is the closest thing the boys have to an adult on the island. Throughout the story Piggy embraces the character traits of being intellectually intelligent, Mature and loyal.

Imagine a world without an existence of creativity, all spontanious activity, love, and joy. A world without fun. Sounds quite dull doesent it? But how then do all of these characteristics come into the world? Well, by people, of course!
Instead of focusing on their TVs, these people should be opened to wonders of the world around them, like Faber and Clarisse, so they are able to see what is truly important. We learned from Faber, a character where the author’s voice comes through to the reader, that Montag’s society was missing some very important aspects due to their obsession with physical things. One thing that is missing is quality. Faber describes this using books saying, “they have quality. And what does the word quality mean?
Annabelle McBride, the main protagonist in Lauren Wolk’s Wolf Hollow, is forced to grow up in several harsh situations. In the novel, Annabelle witnesses unjust deaths and is forced to act alone when she is fighting to prove the innocence of Toby Jordan. He is a reclusive war hero, who some think is a mad man. He is being convicted for pushing Betty Glengarry, the antagonist of the novel, into a well. When Annabelle goes to Toby’s smokehouse in an effort to find him, when she blames herself for Betty’s death, and when Annabelle’s brother Henry gives Annabelle time to process in a hard time -- they are forced to grow up before they are ready.
Montag has finally realized what is wrong with his society and takes action, he wants to change it and make it more “human”. Montag talks to Faber and they have been exchanging ideas about their society and how they feel about it and the way people in it act. Montag and Faber are talking and Montag tells Faber that he has noticed that no one listens to each other anymore. “Nobody listens any more. I can’t talk to the walls because they’re yelling at me.
Jean Louise Finch ‘Scout’ is a headstrong young girl who narrates the novel ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, set in the fictitious County Maycomb over the span of three years. She is often found sporting dirty overalls or breeches and possesses a rather tomboyish personality, much to her aunt’s dismay. It says, “Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire... When I said I could do nothing in a dress, she said I wasn’t supposed to be doing things that required pants. ”(Page 90)

If you think you can’t you’re right.” Ever since I was young, that remained one of my father’s favorite quotes to say, if it be a disagreement with a friend, or working on long division problem. While growing up, knowing that my siblings had not done quite well in school, and that was one of my biggest incentives to do well. I had grown up on one of the worst sides of town, living in an apartment complex with one of the worst reputations, living off the checks my father brought in from his back disability, and food stamps.
The coexistence of good and evil is found deeply embedded in every great story. Complex themes are born from this relationship and many can be found scattered in Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird. The novel takes place in the 1930s and it revolves around the Finch siblings, Jem and Scout, as they grow up in the south and start to discover the truth about their society with their father, Atticus Finch, who is a talented lawyer, and the people of Maycomb County. During this era of hate, Atticus is charged with the task of defending Tom Robinson, a black man wrongly accused of rape. As Jem and Scout start to grow up and realize the racism of their community, people like Miss Maudie, Dill, and many others that reside in Maycomb County, encounters many events that start to shape the siblings for better or worse.
I certainly possess enough intelligence to be in Ravenclaw. Populace always express to me how smart I am when I am engaged and even when I am not. Another example is that I have never gotten a B on my report card. I also enjoy learning and going to school every day. I was in the gifted program at school too.
