Imagine a world without an existence of creativity, all spontanious activity, love, and joy. A world without fun. Sounds quite dull doesent it? But how then do all of these characteristics come into the world? Well, by people, of course! Take Dill harris for example: in Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird Dill portrays perfect examples of key character traits for an enjoyable world. Quick witted, Dill Harris gets into plenty of trouble, for he will not hessitate to lay down a big lie at the drop of a hat, yet sometimes this will help him get out of inevetable spankings. Sopntanious, creative, and loving, Dill lives an enjoyable life to watch and adds much life to Harper Lee's fantastic book.

When Jem, Scout, and Dill all go to court to watch Atticus defend a black man, Dill begins to cry watching all of the hatred pointed towards the black Tom Robinson. "I dont care one speck. It ain't right, somehow it ain't right to do 'em that way hasen't anybody got any buisness talkin' like that---It just makes me sick"(201). Having not yet been exposed to the corrupt world around him, Dills young eyes react greatly to hate and sin of the people around him. Dill maintains his sympathy for people and creatures as well as he grows older because he does not lose his lovingness and humanity. Living in a world with people as loving and caring as Dill truely is uplifting.
With his wide varity of personality traits, Dill acts much diferent than his friends, which can be a good or bad thing. Around Maycomb Dill stands out, but not because he hails from Meridian, but because not many children or adult think the way he does. Others are not as spontanious and quick-witted, creative, and loving as Dill Harris. "I think ill be a clown when I get grown"(133). Charels Baker Harris brings love and life into the book because of his spontanious actions, creativity, and lovingness. The world is a much more pleasant and exciting place because of
