Terrible choices sometimes may effect the way history is changed, but could history change in a positive or negative way? Eckels was very rich man who did not use his money wisely, therefore he did everything to please himself. Being scared resulted in one of many ways that Eckels was killed. In Ray Bradbury's short story "A Sound of Thunder," the main character is murdered and the future is changed because of Eckels own absurdity, the anger of the safari guide, and the lax screening process of Safari, Inc.
In the short story, “A sound of Thunder”, Ray Bradbury used figurative language to make a bigger impact on the story. When Eckels goes into the office he sees and hears, “... A sound like a gigantic bonfire burning all of Time, all the years and all the parchment calendars- all the hours piled high and set aflame.” The author, Ray Bradbury, wanted his audience to have a specific image set in the audience’s head. By using a simile he help the reader imagine how Eckle’s is going to get to the past.

As the events in the past unfold, Eckles ultimately alters the future forever by taking a small step off the Path. The path is there to make sure the time travelers do not affect the future. Unfortunately, Eckles learns the true consequences of his actions when he returns to a changed future.
In Ray Bradbury's short story “A Sound of Thunder”, a murder is committed against Eckels a professional hunter. Eckel’s mistake allowed the present to be altered, and eventually resulted in his murder. Eckel’s murder resulted from his being scared and not following directions, which changed the present. Being scared was Eckel's first mistake of many which eventually led to his demise. There are three pieces of evidence that proves Eckels was scared.
"Does this safari guarantee I come back alive?" The quote I chose came from the beginning of A Sound of Thunder. It sets the tone of the story by putting danger and excitement in the reader's eyes. When I read this quote I automatically thought that what I was about to read was going to get me on the edge of my seat. I think Ray Bradbury put that line in the beginning of his story to excite them and have the thinking what's going to happen next all throughout the A Sound of Thunder.
Everything Matters The style that Ray Bradbury uses in his short story “A Sound of Thunder” is very eerie. The story is about a guy named Eckel who wants to travel back in time and kill a tyrannosaurus rex. He went to the safari place and handed them the $10,000 check, then the tour guide and his assistant got in the time machine with Eckel and another young man. They travel to where they needed to be and when the time came to shoot, Eckel backed out and went walking off the path, he killed a butterfly when he stepped down.
When reading the story “A Sound of Thunder”, it was convincing but there was a lack of scientific evidence to prove him correct. Although the claim was backed, it could have been supported completely if he included the other few components that would’ve helped to prove the claim ultimately. These left out key factors were Einstein’s theory of relativity, and time dilation. Ray Bradbury’s “A Sound of Thunder” portrays the realistic aspects of his story believably to an extent because he only included one scientific aspect, the butterfly effect The only scientific aspect Bradbury included in the story, was the butterfly effect.
