As I begin my college education, I want to continue doing my best in order to accomplish my goal of becoming a registered nurse. With the scholarship money I can have the peace of mind of solemnly focusing on college. Students who have to work to continue their education have trouble focusing on school and do not have the extra time to study or go to tutoring sessions. In many cases, having to work while attending college usually leads to failing or dropping the class due to extra stress and the idea of income. As well, this scholarship will give me more time to focus on my education and to continue my volunteer work helping the

For example, many colleges offer academic, athletic and financial scholarships. These scholarships offer opportunities to students who have special talents, special abilities and special backgrounds but can't afford the high cost of college. Despite the fact that colleges vary in their scholarship programs many have no limit to the amount of scholarships used. This allows students to rack up the savings and get a great deal on college.

He said, “multiply that by four years, then by two or three children.” (85) Now that is an eye opener, for one student to take on a four-year college degree they would owe around $84,000 and that is a copious amount of money. When students have to pay for their own tuition some are juggling school work on top of a job so they can pay off student loans while going to school. Free college tuition
Trying new things, and taking an adventure has always been my mantra whenever I approach something unfamiliar and foreign to me. That is exactly what I did when I decided to participate in formal recruitment this year. Taking the adventure and next step to get involved with the Quinnipiac community and find my niche in this expansive community. My parents were skeptical at first of me going out for recruitment, nevertheless, they still encouraged me to broaden my horizons and get involved. However they do not understand the cost and commitment this organization possess.

Doing what I love and being able to support myself and loved ones is important to me. I am a very independent person and I like to do things my way. I like to set individual goals everyday, whether that means doing my homework before a certain time, or completing something for the week. They help me get my work done on time and efficiently.
As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. College is not only important to me for the reason of making my parents proud, but for making sure that I create more out of myself, as well. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.
However, I believe that it is hard work which should receive praise, because work ethic possesses promise, promise for improvement, promise for success, and a promise of passion. This is why I feel I deserve this scholarship: I have spent my life working day in and day out to be as successful as I am. The accomplishments in my life do not reflect innate talent, rather a promise of my potential and work ethic which I hope will lead to a future of success and prosperity. Besides my enthusiasm for working hard, the other reason why I am deserving of this scholarship is because I plan to attend a postsecondary institution after I receive my bachelor’s. While my family makes a sizable amount of income, the price of tuition combined with the other expenses of attending college will largely be on me to pay.
I already know I will need to be paying for the majority of my college tuition, which is why I have worked so hard and had a job since I was 16. I know many students around my financial status whose parents are paying for all of their college, but for my family this isn’t the case. The tuition will fall mainly on my shoulders, and I believe I deserve this scholarship to help me pay for
Scholarships are investments in students that can benefit from opportunities through which they can receive support, both financially and through connections that can enrich and supplement their academic careers. I have had the honor of receiving the Fred Hill Endowed Scholarship twice before and it provided me with the opportunity to meet Fred Hill as well as another recipient of the scholarship. Having the chance to discuss my future with both Mr. Hill and a peer was eye opening. It helped me reevaluate my own goals by listening to the experiences of others and hearing their feedback. Although a scholarship is generally valued for the financial service it supplies, in this case, I think that the social connection that I was able to have through this scholarship presented me with exclusive access to insights and experiences that allowed me to reconsider my own academic and career goals.
