First of all, I liked this book because of the point of view. The point of view in the book is through Mare’s eyes. She described really well the Castle of the Sun which is the main place they are in, in the book. She described all the colorful glass and elegant furniture through her eyes. Since Mare only lived in a tiny house with just the necessities she described how beautiful it was and how she’s never seen something like it before. I liked stepping into Mare’s life and seeing how it was like to live a hard life and then all the sudden become royalty and seeing her perspective on life. Secondly, I liked this book because of the message or the theme. In the book the people are split up by blood color. Silvers are rich and live life luxuriously. I do because, Mare is trying to show to royalty and all the silvers that the reds are no different and that they deserve to be equal. Lastly, I liked this book because of the setting. The setting was a futuristic place called Norta. I liked the setting because I like being in someplace new and imaginative. It gives me someplace different than the world we live in.
