Through Kilachand Honors College, students gain broader and more global perspectives via a rigorous and wide ranging course load built to equip them as students seeking to academically challenge themselves with the variety of skills necessary to question the way the world works and solve global issues.

My experience as a high school student has allowed me to in some ways take concepts taught in the classroom and use them in a form of real life applications. However, a small high school can only stretch curriculum so deep into the real world. Thus far, I feel as if I have lacked true submersion in the possible ways to apply what I have learned in a desk to change and mold the environment we live in. Many students often ask, “Why do I need to know this?” I hope to gain an education that answers this question. I am seeking an education that pushes me to take physics, calculus, or history and apply it to not just a lab or paper but an issue faced by mankind everyday. …show more content…

The smaller, tight knit community promotes intellectual challenges both in and out of the classroom as students are surrounded by others who are as academically focused and change seeking as they are. By being students in not only the Kilachand Honors College but one of the eight schools or colleges Boston University has to offer, students are able to make strong connections to world renowned faculty across several disciplines. Students of the Kilachand Honors College gain access to smaller class sizes and therefore these student-faculty relationships are further promoted even within Boston University's large undergraduate
