The events of WW2 in the 1940s lead to further actions that deeply impacted the Japanese American community. In 1942, just two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt, as commander-in-chief, used Executive Order 9066 that resulted in the internment of Japanese Americans. The first internment facility to be established was the Manzanar War Relocation Center near Lone Pine, California.

David Brooks makes many good points in his article, and I agree with what he says and can relate many of my personal stories to him. Many of us want to live with people like us, and many of us want to be with people that are like us. At the beginning Brooks mentions how diversity isn’t cared by many, and he’s right. Before moving to California I heard that this was a place where many people came from all over the world to live better lives, so I thought it would be a nice place to meet new people. At first my family wanted to move to Berkeley and we were looking at neighborhoods that were cheap to live in, we liked many neighborhoods, but a few friends of my dad who had lived there told us that those neighborhoods had many blacks and hispanics
I chose “The Third Texas Cavalry” because I am very interested in learning about all that was in the Civil War. This article was an extremely interesting read. It held a lot of information about the Civil War and the endurance that the regiment possessed. The Third Texas Cavalry was in service for four years. They endured so much chaos and blood shed
To find what happiness is, one must grow and learn. As we see things and think that’s when we find what makes us happy. Everyone at one point has thought about what makes them happy, "Are you happy? " that’s what Clarisse asked Montag in Fahrenheit 451(Bradburg7). We as people need to think what true happiness is for us.
People tell themselves they are happy without considering it. Like the time Clarisse asked Montag if he was happy. At first he thought to himself of course, but then after some time of dwelling upon the conversation he realized he was not happy with his life. The world they live in now is not

In the United States, representation of democratic government has very close relationship with geography. The United States is currently operating the federal system of government, which means that power is divided between different levels of government such as local, state, and federal. For each level of government, population and geography is one of the biggest deciding factor. First of all, there are three elected position, and they represent different range of the country. President, who has 4 year term, represents the entire country, and 2 senators representing each state make up 100 senators who have six year term.
California is one of the heavily populated states in the United States having recorded 38,802,500 residents in 2014 [1]. At the present time there are 12,214,549 housing units in California [2]. Real Estate is one of the most active businesses in California employing many people as Brokers, Loan Officers, Escrow Officers, Real Estate Agents, Receptionists as well as Loan Closers. As in the rest of the country, in California, people can get different types of loans when they need it. For example, “Reverse Mortgages” are designed specifically for people at the age of 62 or above.
That is what I love about being a Californian. I can walk through my community and witness different cultures within our country. In terms of how I keep myself getting frustrated with ignorant or hurtful comments from my buddies that I served with, I do my best to first find the humor in it. Then I do my best to educate them on how I was raised or how I consider the culture of many Californians to value the empowerment of women and to treat them equally. I also express that my mother, older sister and my wife are very vocal, goal driven individuals that follow their professional and personal desires.
In the book " Geography of Bliss" by Eric Weiner, he is set off to a journey to find the happiest country around the globe including Switzerland, Bhutan, Qatar, and Iceland to search and discover how happiness is define and what are the things that make people happy in that country. He discovered that happiness cannot just only find inside yourself, but it is a function of place. Cultural values and traits have an effect and influence on the degree of happiness. According to Weiner, in Switzerland, "Swiss go to great lengths not to provoke envy in others" (Page 31) in one of their way that makes people in their country happy.
If you know the tools for happiness, then you’ll make it work like magic Happiness might be in the smallest of the things but sometimes the material things won’t give you permanent feeling of joy, you might be happy with those things for a shorter time but it won’t be long lasting. Just as learning new skills requires effort, you will have to strive and work hard to achieve real, long lasting happiness. 2. If you are satisfied with everything you’ve, you might lose the motivation to achieve more and be more happy Happiness is something that boosts up your energy.
A collection of philosophical, religious, psychological and biological approaches had attempted to define happiness and analyze its connections. Researchers have found that about 50% of people happiness depends on our genes, based on studies of identical twins, whose happiness was 50% correlated even when growing up in different houses. About 10% to 15% is a result of various measurable life circumstances variables, such as socioeconomic status, marital status, health, income, and others. The remaining 40% is a combination of intentional factors and the results of actions that individuals deliberately engage in to become happier. Studies have also found that most of us are born with a fixed “set point” of happiness that we fall in throughout our lives.

According to a theory in Psychology, all humans have a happiness “set- point” that determines their overall well-being. When something positive happens to a person, he becomes happy. On the other hand, when something negative happens to him, he becomes miserable.
