English 1010 was an amazing class, during the period that the class was going on I was able to develop my communication skills and become aware of the world around me and how individuals operate according to what the society wants from them. The English 1010 class helped in developing a new aspect of reasoning, analyzing and drawing adequate conclusion. Furthermore I was to know the kind of informations I can take in and avoid wrong assumptions. The author implies that college sells their institution to convince them to prefer them from the other universities. As an example, in this essay I will describe the rhetorical appeals of Texas A & M University’s website sells technique.
Both Sherman Alexie and Francine Prose utilize various rhetorical strategies throughout their essays to captivate their audience. However, Alexie and Prose present and use these rhetorical strategies in different ways. Prose’s essay contains different components of literary devices than Alexie’s essay. For example, one of the rhetorical methods Prose uses is to take on a certain identity to build her credibility and to strengthen her argument. In this passage, Ezekiel Cheever responds to John Proctor’s curiosity about what a needle in a poppet signifies and why his wife Elizabeth is being accused of using witchcraft against Abigail Williams. Cheever’s response explains his knowledge of how Abigail was afflicted, his possession of strong evidence against Elizabeth Proctor as a court official, and both his and the town of Salem’s tendency to turn to superstition to explain mysterious events. As Cheever explains how Abigail was afflicted by the needles from the poppet, he utilizes a simile when he states that Abigail fell to the floor, after being stabbed, “like a struck beast” (74). Cheever says this to emphasize the abruptness and intensity of the situation and how significant it is that there is no visual perception of anyone
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
Reflection The two paragraphs are a rhetorical analysis of the article about the Wolf Warriors II chose from Chinese daily online newspaper. The biggest difference between the old paragraph and the new paragraph is that the writing style is different. The old paragraph used more academic style, and I stood in a neutral objective position. The new paragraph used more informal style-speech, and I only need to stand in my position.

In my argument essay, I tried to voice a strong opinion, but fell short. Although our process analysis essays and cover letters haven’t been graded yet, I believe that I portrayed a more confident tone and style in those than I did in my argument essay. To strengthen his speech, Reynolds uses past personal experiences and the comparison of objects to others to help prove the theme portrayed throughout the speech.

It allows readers to gain a better understanding of the characters. Arthur Miler, the author of The Crucible, highlights the importance of mass hysteria through rhetorical appeals. John Proctor, the tragic hero is a loyal, honest, and kind-hearted individual.
Kathryn Stockett successfully uses rhetorical devices to get the reader to feel and understand the perspectives of the protagonists. Stockett uses pathos, ethos, and logos in her book, since the book about social injustice. The topics in the book range from inequality of the sexes to social classes and racism, Stockett is successful in getting the reader to reflect while reading the book and the themes of the book have a clear presence. We see Stockett use ethos and pathos in the very first chapters when we learn that Hilly doesn't like Minny and Minny doesn't want to say why at first, but the incident with Ms. Holbrook was affecting her chances of getting a job because of the influence Hilly has over this suburban society. In some instances where Stockett uses ethos, pathos is also included in her writing.
First, I fixed all of the punctual and grammatical errors I made. The biggest revision I made to the analysis was decreasing the size of the quotes I used. There were several instances where I quoted almost entire paragraphs. Although at the time I thought this added important evidence, now I see that most of it was unnecessary and distracted from the point I was trying to make. I think writing and revising this essay taught me a lot about making claims and providing sufficient evidence to support them.
