Solutions are also presented to help prevent conflict among roommates from occurring. Overall, the article uses firsthand accounts from university students and solutions on how to solve issues, but ultimately says the student might have to endure their roommate for the time being.

The author brings up the topic of miscommunication being the main issue for conflict. Sasic wants the reader to communicate in a peaceful way, not by getting hostile and aggressive toward their roommate. New rules and boundaries should be put into place once concerns are expressed in order to prevent future issues. Resident assistants are used as a mediator between roommates since they are trained to handle conflicts. Roommate agreements are mentioned as a way to hold roommates accountable for their actions, and no conflict should arise since both parties agreed to its terms. Roommates living in an apartment could use a mutual, unbiased friend to mediate the situation and help avoid blowups. Conflict can easily be resolved by communication, students should use their resources and not feel uncomfortable in their own living
