It seems that Benton and DiYanni provides more information on Etruscans temples, tombs, and sculptures such as on pages 129 and 130 than Dillard even mentioned in the entire article. Also on page 132, they claimed that Rome declared itself a republic in 509 B.C. when Dillard states they did so in 510 B.C. The perception that Dillard provided in her article was as if the Romans and Etruscans grew to hate one another which led to the capture of all Etruscan civilizations when in the book Benton and DiYanni wrote, they make it seem like they never hated one another and that the separation just happened without reasoning. Two completely different perceptions of the same events are displayed here. However, both agreed that Etruscans had the ability to work in metal which was rare during this period of time.

Throughout the essay, you will see that Kumin introduces the speaker as a frustrated farmer trying to get rid of a problem she is going through. The speaker tries to kill the woodchuck by successfully gassing them. The speaker is frustrated and angry furthermore because his solution is not working in order to protect his garden. Down the line in the poem the farmer finds another means on how to kill the woodchucks and feel like this is the only option to get rid of them, however, wants the woodchucks to not feel the pain.
In the article “Etruscans, Losing Their Edge,” Annie Dillard digs into the Etruscan culture. Inspired by the photographic work of Carol Munder, Dillard asks the question of what were these people like, in order to gain an understanding of their culture through their remnants, statues of bronze. Dillard proceeds to explain the history of the Etruscans and how little is known about them. The Etruscans were hated during their short and cruel reign. The Romans swiftly conquered the Etruscans, banishing them into the cold, dark pages of history books.
